When a person has an asthma attack, things will happen in the body’s airways and lungs. In the airways, there are cells that produce a lot of mucus, thus breathing is very hard when experiencing an asthma attack. This large amount of mucus clogs up the airways, restricting the passage of air needed by your lungs. It is of utmost importance to find help immediately when having an asthma attack. The treatment should not be delayed even for just one second or else it might be too late. First thing to do is to remember to bring your medication. Take it immediately when you start to feel breathless. Also, always keep in handy emergency telephone numbers so you can call for help. Those who are going along with someone who may have an asthma attack, bring that person straight to the hospital, fast!

Mild asthma attacks are not as deadly as the severe attacks. Do not be complacent though, take medication immediately. It may not be needed to rush you immediately to the hospital but still there should be treatment plans in order. Immediate action is still important.

The prospect of an asthma attack, especially the severe kind, is a scary one. However, there are things you can do and you should do. Do not be defeated by it. Fight for your life.
