Gluten Free Diet

Gluten is actually protein that can be found in the rye, barley, wheat and other grains. Some people are sensitive on this protein because when it is taken with the food in their body the small intestine of these people can not absorb the gluten. The intestine has some sort of intolerance for this protein. People who suffer from this disease – celiac disease – simply can not absorb the gluten in their body. This is the reason for weight loss, diarrhea, bloating and other abnormal manners. This disease is also connected with the skin disorder – dermatitis hepatitis because they are missing some essential vitamins and minerals in their food.

As we told the small intestine in theirs body has problem with the absorption of gluten and because of this they are using gluten free food in their meals in order to not disturb the small intestine.

But if you think that you can easily eliminate the gluten from the foods you take – you are wrong. There are a lot of products on the market that containing gluten. At first, you should not eat all those grains mentioned above. This was the easier part. Second, before consuming some food you should carefully take a look at the ingredients of the product in order to be sure that there is no gluten. If you are suggested to take gluten free diet than you should take care if there is no oats in the food. The oats is stated as risk free food for those who suffer from celiac disease but not everybody can eat it. When you are at gluten free diet you are allowed to eat rice, soybeans, potatoes, corn, millet, distilled white vinegar, tapioca, buckwheat.

You should be careful when you are on gluten free diet for choosing the products you should eat. There are a lot of ingredients in the product that contains gluten and you simply don’t know about that. So please take a closer look when you are buying something. There should not be anything of these: hydrolyzed vegetable protein or so called HVP, flour or cereal products, vegetable protein, malt or malt flavoring, modified starch or modified food starch. All of these contain hidden gluten. But on the market there are some substitutes for these products and they are made from the products that the people who are taking the gluten free diet can consume these. The substitutes are actually made from the products that this people can eat and were mentioned above. These products can not harm your small intestine.

And finally f you are using gluten free diet you should never consume products on which is stated that there is stabilizer, starch, flavoring, emulsifier, and hydrolyzed plant protein.

However you are not recommended to use this diet if you want to loose the weight. This diet is only recommended for the people who suffer from celiac disease. Some kind of this diet can be applied and to people who are suffering from dermatitis herpetiformis, multiple sclerosis, and some behavioral problems such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. If you want to lose weight seriously, have a look at the famous low carbohydrate food Atkins diet.
