Stress Incontinence is when you can not to hold the urine into your body. This occurs when the abdomen makes pressure on the bladder and your bladder is not able to hold the liquid that it contains. Than this liquid is released out of you body without your will. The pressure from the abdomen can be as a result of tightening of abdominal muscles when you are doing some physical activity or when you simply coughing, sneezing, or laughing.

When you experience Stress Incontinence you actually have problem with your bladder. It is not functioning well and the reason can be that it can not hold enough liquid in, or problem with urethral sphincter which prevents unwanted outflow of the liquid. The problem with the urethral sphincter can arose after the surgeries of pelvis or prostate. The urethral sphincter is a kind of muscle and when it is not function well the involuntary loss of urine may occur. Stress Incontinence can be also as a result of weakened pelvic muscles, injury of the nerves which are controlling this process, prior trauma and as a result of taking some medications.

There are numerous reasons for damaging these organs in the body. The reasons can vary from sex, getting older, smoking, excess weight; becoming mother etc. elderly women also more often have this problem. In a study is stated that nearly 20 percent of the women over 75 year has Stress Incontinence problem. Stress Incontinence problem is more likely to arise at the people who have chronically diseases such as chronic bronchitis or asthma. Also, we should state that Stress Incontinence is more commonly for the women especially if they had multiple pregnancies and vaginal childbirths. Other reasons for Stress Incontinence are pelvic pro lapse and rectal wall into the vaginal area.

How all this process occurs? You should take a closer attention to all body parts included in this problem. At first kidneys which are located in upper abdomen collect all waste from the blood and afterward they are transferring it into the bladder.

You should also take a look to the nervous systems which control the properly functioning of all bladder muscles and urethral sphincter. When the bladder starts to accumulate the urine it send signal to the brain. With this signal we are aware that our bladder is half fool with the urine and that we should soon find some appropriate place to urinate. After this the bladder continues to be filled. The capacity of bladder is 300- 550 ml of urine it starts to stretch in order to accumulate sufficient urine.

So, as you can see in order to perform all tasks on time you should have good urethral sphincter which helps you in preventing the outflow of urine from the body. Also you should have good nervous system which will signal you when the amount of urine into your bladder is 200ml. and finally you should have good bladder which will stretch enough in order to higher amount of urine to be accumulated into it.
