In our community today, an allergy is something that is not easily understood. An allergic reaction could vary in every person. There are also those who do not have allergies at all, and generally these people do not understand. Yes, there are now specialists that deal with the treatment of various allergies. They too have allergies themselves. Fortunately, these people have made accurate observations and have documented them. That is why at some level we could be aware of the many symptoms allergies show, especially that of the feline allergy.

The symptoms of an allergy to cats show in different forms. A person may suffer only one kind of symptom, but there is also a tendency to suffer more allergic symptoms. It is easy to mistake the symptoms as common colds, cough, or a sneezing bout. It comes and goes just like that, so it is indeed hard for you to be aware of it.
However, if you have a cat in the household, then you would want to suspect some allergies going on. Aside from an onset of colds, coughing, or sneezing, there are other symptoms of a cat allergy. If you have experienced most of them frequently, then you do have the allergy. The other symptoms are rashes, sore throat, and ringing ears. You may also experience a burning sensation in the eyes, or the eyes could redden and be watery. What is nice is that there are ways to reduce the effects of the allergy on your body. This way you would still be able to keep your cat with you.
It was not until these recent times that the reason for having cat allergies is discovered. People thought it was the cat’s hair. Perhaps what is causing the allergy is in the cat box, or maybe the small flakes dislodged from the cat’s skin. But they could not have been more wrong. The reason for a cat allergy and the reason why a person suffers from cat allergy symptoms is the saliva of the cat. The cat, as you may notice, loves to clean itself by licking its body. The cat would probably do this many times a day and once an allergic person gets near the cat, then all those allergy symptoms would manifest themselves.
One way to determine for sure if you are allergic is to remove the cat from your presence for at least two weeks. Then you vacuum your house; make sure you clean every corner, especially the things your cat came into contact with. If the symptoms go away, then you are allergic. One way to avoid the allergy is to make the cat live outside. Your cat would like it in the long run. Also, you can easily install a door flap so your cat can get inside the house if the weather is bad. You can still have the cat as pet, but make sure not to make frequent contact with it. You can also take some medicine, if this will help the allergy then well and good. But if it does not, then you have to make the sacrifice and not come near the cat as much as possible.
